Liz Maloney is a Canadian Beach Volleyball player, a member of the Senior Canadian Beach Volleyball Team and a competitor on the FIVB and NORCECA volleyball tours. Follow Liz as she travels around the world competing to qualify for the 2012 Olympics in London, England.

2011 Pan American Games in Mexico

Liz and Heather are the women's team representing Canada in the sport of Beach Volleyball at the the Pan American Games in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The team of Ben Saxton and Christian Redmann are representing Canada in the men's competition.

Overall there are 42 nations from South, Central, and North America as well as the Caribbean participating in a total of 46 sports. The official languages of the Games are English and Spanish. Most events will be held in and around Guadalajara with several, including Beach Volleyball in Puerto Vallarta.

Beach Volleyball play will start on October 15th.

2011 Canadian Beach Volleyball National Championships

After three days of playing against the top senior teams in Canada at Ashbridges Bay in Toronto, Liz and Heather ended up with a silver in the final. The weekend tournament was well attended by friends and family and other supporters. After attending the National Team selection camp for three days, the team will have a break before heading into another set of tournaments to be announced.

Aland, Finland FIVB Open 5th Consecutive Main Draw in 2011

In Aland, Finland for the FIVB Open event, Liz and Heather started in the Main Draw based on points earned on the tour for the first time. Another great milestone for the team. They won their first match over a team from Finland, then lost to teams from Brazil and Spain, finishing 17th.

VISA FIVB London 2012 Test Event Results

Liz and Heather were thrilled to participate in the 2012 Olympic Games Volleyball test event. This was the first time an international volleyball tournament was staged in the U.K. capital. It was an opportunity to showcase the sport for British fans in the year leading up to the Olympics in London.

The event was a success with good crowds throughout and a high level of play in a great location. Liz and Heather won two of three games in their pool to advance to the final 16 where they lost out to one of the teams from Great Britain who finished fourth. They finished 9th. Two other Canadian teams also participated in the event.
